For one prominent Florida school district, ensuring equitable access to essential student support services is an ongoing commitment.
Already partnering with Presence for related services and using the Kanga platform, the district expanded its collaboration to deliver compensatory speech-language services. By providing flexible teletherapy before and after school, the district helped more students receive vital services while protecting instructional time.
Solutions implemented
There was a speech shortage in one of Florida’s largest school districts. The district needed a scalable way to support students without disrupting classroom learning.
To help students recover missed IEP minutes without missing classroom time, the district expanded its existing Presence partnership to include compensatory speech-language therapy.
The Presence team partnered with families to coordinate scheduling and service delivery for compensatory hours. Flexible scheduling across evenings, weekends, school breaks, and summer sessions helped students stay engaged in classroom instruction while receiving the support they needed.
By combining flexible virtual scheduling with coordinated service tracking and communication, the district and Presence created a scalable approach to compensatory speech-language therapy support. The initiative helped protect classroom learning time and support continuity for students and families.
