CASE STUDY
GOAL High School is an online public charter and the largest high school in Colorado, serving students statewide. Designated as an Alternative Educational Campus (AEC), the high school primarily serves students whose needs aren’t being met in traditional school settings, with most students meeting Colorado’s at-risk criteria. GOAL needed teachers to access student plans securely and collaborate in real time. GOAL turned to Education Modified for reliable, centralized student plan documentation as enrollment grew to 6,000+ students.
Services delivered
As an AEC serving primarily at-risk students, GOAL managed a high volume of individualized education plans (IEPs), 504 plans, and other student support plans. The number of student plans staff needed to track grew significantly as enrollment expanded. Educators needed one secure system with easy access to critical student support details.
GOAL unified student plans with Education Modified, a management, collaboration, and compliance platform. The secure system integrated with GOAL’s learning management system and IEP system, so plan data flowed in automatically. Role-based permissions gave teachers access to the details relevant to their classroom, and built-in collaboration tools let paraprofessionals and teachers share notes and track goals together.
With IEPs, 504s, English language learner (ELL) accommodations, and more in one place, general education teachers get the classroom-relevant details they need easily. Through Education Modified, GOAL’s team now handles data maintenance and houses support plans for a remote student body.

THE ROAD TO SUCCESS
GOAL’s team became so comfortable with Education Modified that staff managed their own day-to-day record updates and trained new hires on the platform without relying on outside support.
